On its opening day, the film saw more than 95% occupancy in theatres and managed to rank in Rs 51 Cr right on its first day. On day two, the movie is expected to have brought in Rs 21 Cr, with the movie expected to enter the Rs 100 Cr by weekend.
Since its release, the movie has received mixed reviews, but they do not seem to have affected the film's business. The movie brought in Rs 150 Cr even before its release with distribution and other rights. The movie is said to have collected Rs 1.30 Cr in two days in Chennai alone.
The box office numbers abroad are equally interesting with the movie raking in Rs 7.45 Cr in USA from premier and Wednesday shows. However, the movie registered a 87% drop with the $1 million debut followed by $131,655 on Wednesday. But experts believe the movie could still cross $2.8 million by the weekend.
