IBPS PO 2017 FULL DETAILS Your Complete Guide to Exam Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Application Process, Important Documents and Cut-Off



























IBPS PO exam is one of the most sought after competitive exams and qualifying this exam gives you the opportunity of getting selected into an array of public sector banks.

The date for the IBPS PO Exam 2017 has been announced and the Preliminary exam will be held on October 7, 8, 14 and 15 2017 and the date for IBPS-PO Mains is November 26th, 2017. IBPS PO exam is one of the most sought after competitive exams and qualifying this exam gives you the opportunity of getting selected into an array of public sector banks. Since the dates have now been released it is expected that the online application process will commence from August 2017 itself. You need to fill this application form carefully because later the details and preferences provided by you cannot be changed.

If you want to apply for the IBPS PO exam, you should fulfill the eligibility criteria given below: 

1. The candidate should be a graduate and must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university

2. Candidate should be an Indian citizen

3. The candidate should be aged 20 years or more but not more than 30 years as on July 1, 2017. However, a relaxation in age of 3 years is given to OBC (non-creamy layer); 5 years is given to SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, SSCOs, ECOs, etc., persons domiciled in J&K during the period January 1st 1980 to December 31st 1989, & persons affected by 1984 riots. Further a relaxation of 10 years is given to persons with disabilities.

The application process for IBPS PO 2017 will be online and is expected to start in August 2017. The candidates should keep the following documents handy with themselves before starting the online process:

1. Scanned copy of your passport size photo and signatures

2. Details required for the online payment of money since the application fees can be paid online only. Fees for all persons except those belonging to SC/ST/PWD, the application fee is Rs. 600 and for SC/ST/PWD category the fees is Rs 100.

3. Valid email address in working condition as that is official mode of communication between Candidates and IBPS.

Once the schedule of the exam and important dates are announced and you have successfully filled the application form online, you’ll need to download your admit card. For that you need to visit the official website of IBPS and login to your profile to get your admit card. You’ll be required to provide your registration number/roll number, date of birth/password and submit these details. Once you’ve submitted, your admit card will appear on the screen. Download it and print it for taking the exam and future reference.

The result is declared in the online mode only. The candidates can check their result by visiting the link as will be specified by IBPS and providing your registration/roll number. 

The expected cut-off for the exam is decided only once the exam is held and depends on various factors like the number of vacancies, a number of candidates appeared in the exam, common score obtained by candidates etc. But apart from these factors, the cut off also depends on various rules set by the IBPS viz:

1. For SC/ST/PWD category: Mean – 3/4th of standard deviation

2. For General category: 1/4th of standard deviation

All those candidates who qualified both the Pre-lims and Mains exam and cleared the cut off will be called for the interview, the final round wherein the candidates for the job will finally be shortlisted. The interview is for 100 marks and to qualify it the candidates need to secure 40% if they belong to the general category and 35% if they belong to the SC/ST/PWD category. 

Also, if 2 or more candidates have secured same marks preference will be given to the senior (in terms of age) candidate.

The candidates must have the following documents at the time of interview for verification:

1. Printout of Interview call letter.

2. Printout of online generated duly-filled application form.

3. Date of Birth proof. One may submit either Birth certificate or Std. X/SSLC certificate.

4. Photo Identity proof.

5. Bachelor’s degree mark sheets and related certificates.

6. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST category candidates have to produce Caste certificate as issued by the appropriate authority. OBC creamy layer candidates are suggested to choose their category as “General”. 

7. Disability certificate needs to be submitted by candidates belonging to PwD category. The certificate should be obtained from District Medical Board.

8. Requisite Documents for Ex-servicemen category candidates.

9. In case you want to claim for age relaxation then you’ll have to produce the required documents.

- Experience certificate, if you have.

- Any other certificates if required in support of your eligibility.

Once the interview is completed, the candidates who are qualified or shortlisted are provisionally allotted to one of the participating banks depending upon the no. of vacancies, merit cum preference basis, etc.
