Virat Kohli-led team India are set to visit Sri Lanka for a 3-match Test Series, 5-match ODI series and 1 T20 International starting from July 26.

After 2 months of ODI and T20 cricket, team India will once again don the white jersey under the leadership of captain Kohli.

The 30-year-old Rohit Sharma last played a Test for India against New Zealand in October, 2016. After that he was sidelined due to thigh injury which laid him off for the entire home season for Indian cricket team. The Mumbai batsman directly returned to action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to lead the Mumbai Indians To Their Third Tittle.
The Sri Lanka Test series will also see India playing under a new coach, the announcement of which is expected to be made on Monday. Ravi Shastri, according to sources, is the front- runner to succeed Anil Kumble. The India great resigned last month following an ‘untenable’ relationship with captain Virat Kohli.
Rohit’s recent show
Rohit Sharma performed well for India in the recently-held ICC Champions Trophy, in which where he was the second highest scorer for the Virat Kohli-led team. He scored 304 runs in five matches, including a century. He was rested for the limited overs away series against West Indies.

Karun Nair, in whose place Rohit Sharma has come in, couldn’t hold on to his place after aggregating just 54 runs in his last three Tests against Australia. His poor form continued for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL-10. The Karnataka lad scored 303* against England in December, 2016. He is currently part of India A squad in a series against South Africa A.
KL Rahul too returned to the Indian team after injury forced him to miss the IPL and ICC Champions Trophy. Rahul was in fine form, scoring half-century in his last five Test innings before injury struck. His scores from the last Test series against Australia read: 10, 64, 51, 90, 67, 60 and 51 not out.
Hardik Pandya, who has impressed in his fast bowling all rounder’s role, is also part of the squad though he was not there in the last Test series played by India against Australia.
A three-member selection panel joined via a teleconference on Sunday to decide the squad.

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has finally sold his sprawling Beverly Hills mansion for $40 million.
The property also boasts nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a children's playground and guesthouses
The 53-year-old actor has offloaded his second Los Angeles home, less than a year after he sold his Hollywood Hills estate for $11.4 million.
Tom originally put the house, which he bought in 2007 for $32.5 million, on the market for $45 million but he slashed $5 million off the asking price in order to sell.
The property features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a children's playground and guesthouses.
Last year Tom sold his estate in the Hollywood Hills for $11.4 million - almost two million less than the asking price.
The actor finally managed to flog the luxurious property, situated in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, two years after it went on the market, after it failed to sell for the original listing price of $13 million.
The gorgeous home, which boasts stunning views of the city below, is complete with a huge outdoor paved terrace perfect for those warm evenings watching the sun go down.
Three large bedrooms, each featuring en-suite bathrooms, with high ceilings and stylish interiors make up the house, while the farmhouse-style kitchen with a white butler sink and plenty of storage space sits in the heart of the home.
The spacious living room comes with a large open fire and a white marble-effect surround, while the white wooden ceiling beams and light decor adds some character to the place.
A large outdoor pool sits in the back garden, ideal for the summer months, and a luxury spa provides a relaxing environment after those long, tiring, days at work.
A wine cellar is situated to the side of the house and provides plenty of storage for those bottles of booze, while the nearby tasting room offers a tranquil place for afternoon meetings and early evening gatherings.
The estate also comes with a huge guest house, boasting four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a kitchen, for when relatives stop by for a mini vacation, according to Zillow.
And he also put his Colorado home, which he bought in the '90s during his marriage to Nicole Kidman, on the market for $59 million because he no longer uses it.
