Indian Cricketer MS Dhoni Own's Another World Class Record - Second Highest Run-Scorer as a Wicket-Keeper - Adam Gilchrist Congratulates MS Dhoni On Surpassing his record as Wicket -Keeper Batsman

Former Australian batsman Adam Gilchrist congratulated MS Dhoni as the former Indian skipper surpassed him to become the second highest run-scorer as a wicketkeeper. Dhoni, now, trails former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara, who scored 13341 ODI runs.

MS Dhoni’s gritty knock of 78 runs steered India to a modest total of 251 in the third match of the five-match ODI series. Eventually, it was his knock unbeaten knock and a brilliant spell by Kuldeep Yadav which saw India cross the line with ease and take 2-0 in the series.
However, his 63rd one-day international half-century also saw the former Indian skipper reach a new career milestone as he surpassed Australia’s Adam Gilchrist to become the second highest run-scorer as a wicketkeeper. Dhoni, who has now scored 9496 ODI runs, trails former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara's record of 13341 runs.
Gilchrist, who was a part of the Indian Premier League with 2009 IPL winners Decan Charges and Kings XI Punjab, wasted no time in congratulating one of the most successful captain in the cricket history. The left-handed batsman shared a photo of the two captains on Instagram to wish Dhoni for his achievement and wrote, “Congrats on passing me, young fella. Was always a matter of time. #msd #2ndhighest #keepers.”
The 45-year old Australian, fondly called as Gilly, featured in 282 matches as a keeper and had scored 9410 runs. In his 12 years career, he hit 16 centuries and 53 half-centuries. Dhoni, on the other hand, has smashed 10 hundred and 64 fifties in his career spanning over 13 years.
Dhoni, recently, became the first Indian batsman to hit 200 sixes in the 50-overs game. The 35-year old right-hander usually used to bat at number 5, 6 or 7 averages 51.32 with a strike rate of 88.69.

Slowest 50 after 16 years by an indian - MS Dhoni Scores Slowest 50 by an Indian in 16 Years - Latest From World Cricket - Latest From MS Dhoni

Antigua: Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a winning knock innings of 78 runs off 79 balls in the third ODI against West Indies and said that he's like old wine ,which only gets better with time.

MS Dhoni reached his fifty off 108 balls with just one boundary and the strike rate of 46.30. This was the second slowest fifty overall by an Indian in ODI history.

However, this was not the case during the fourth ODI which India lost by 11 runs while chasing a modest 190.
Dhoni, who came rather early on the crease, though scored 54 runs but took 114 balls to do that – slowest in 16 years by an Indian and the second slowest overall by any Indian.
Only Sadagoppan Ramesh has scored a fifty slower than Dhoni for India, taking 117 balls for against Kenya in 1999 while former India captain Sourav Ganguly is third on the list for his 105-ball fifty against Sri Lanka in 2005.
Dhoni, who has many records to his name, is known to keep calm in the end and finish the game off in style with six – as he has done it nine times in his career, but Sunday wasn’t his day.
After West Indies were stopped at 189 in their 50 overs everyone was assured of an Indian victory.
Jason Holder, however, had other plans as Dhoni and India suddenly found themselves chasing 16 runs in last two overs. Known for his cool head, MSD got out on the last ball of the 49th over with Indian requiring 14 off six.
Holder then finished off the things with two remaining wickets in his last over and completing his five-for.

India beat Pakistan by 95 Runs - IND VS Pakistan, ICC Women's Worldcup 2017 - Full Details Of Indian Women's Team and Pakistan Women's Team Matches Played Upto Now - Latest From 2017 ICC Womens World Cup - Latest From World Cricket

ICC Women's World Cup: Bisht shines as India beat Pakistan by 95 runs to post third successive victory.

Women cricket teams of India and Pakistan have faced each other a record nine times in the past. On Sunday, India will meet their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Women's World Cup 2017 for their respective third fixture in the group stage.

Man-of-the-match Bisht returned with the figures of 5/18 in her quota of 10 overs that included two maidens

Chasing a paltry 170-run target, Pakistan women were bowled out for 74 in 38.1 overs

For India, Deepti Sharma (28) along with Punam Raut (47) forged a 76-run partnership for the second wicket.

An India vs Pakistan cricket match is always compelling. For one, they are arch-rivals. Second, both the teams come from cricket-crazy nations. On Sunday, women teams of both the countries will lock horns in their third World Cup fixture taking place in England.
Led by Mithali Raj, India won both their matches, beating England women by 35 runs on the opening day of the tournament and West Indies by 7 wickets on Thursday.
Pakistan, on the other hand, are winless in the tournament so far, losing the first to South Africa by 3 wickets and the second to hosts England by 107 runs. It is, hence, a crucial match, also considering the fact that their next match is against Australia, which will also be hard to win.
The two teams have met each other on nine occasions in the past in the ODI format. Interestingly, India have managed to beat them on all the nine times. Not just managed, India have defeated their arch-rivals by more than 100 runs in four matches.
Here are the nine matches between India women team and Pakistan women team:
19 Feb 2017
India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in the only other match played this year. It was the World Cup Qualifier and Pakistan was dismissed for a meagre 67 runs.
7 Feb 2013
It was a play-off match for seventh place during the last Women’s World Cup in 2013. Mithali Raj’s century and Niranjana Nagarajan’s three wickets helped India win the match by 6 wickets.
7 March 2009
After dismissing Pakistan for an embarrasing 57 runs, India won the Women’s World Cup Group B fixture by a whooping 10 wickets.
9 May 2008
Half-centuries by Jaya Sharma, Mithali Raj and Rumeli Dhar ensured that India recorded a win by the biggest margin in 2008 when they beat Pakistan by 207 runs in the Asia Cup.
5 May 2008
Four days earlier, they had crushed Pakistan by 182 runs in the same tournament as Rumeli Dhar departed with 92 not out after Ashra Rawat’s 69.
19 Dec 2006
India recorded a win by 103 runs against Pakistan women cricket team, who posted 141 in response to India’s 244 in the Asia Cup in 2006.
13 Dec 2006
Registering a win by 80 runs, Indian women ensured a solid Asia Cup campaign in 2006.
2 Jan 2006
A partnership of Mithali Raj and Rumeli Dhar ensured a victory for India over hosts Pakistan in Asia Cup fixture by 10 wickets.
30 Dec 2005
This was the first time the two sides met and sparks were bound to fly. India won their first face-off with Pakistan women cricket team by 193 runs after Jaya Sharma registered a century and Mithali Raj helped her with a further 89 runs not out.

India vs Westindies - Westindies Stun India - Westindies beat India by 11 Runs - Latest From World Cricket

Antigua: Jason Holder registered career best figures of 5-27 as West Indies defeated India by 11 runs and stayed alive in the five match One Day series.

India lost in-form Shikhar Dhawan (5), captain Virat Kohli (3) and Dinesh Karthik (2) cheaply after restricting West Indies to a modest 189 for nine.

But Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni then came together and stitched a 54-run partnership together. It was a rather slow partnership, and took them 18.1 overs to make 54-runs.

Dhoni played a rather slow innings, making 54 off 114 balls. He was dismissed on the last ball off the 49th over, with Williams accounting for the former India captain.

India never really got going, and seemed to be behind the eight-ball throughout the chase. But it never looked as if they were out of the game, with Dhoni almost staying till the end.

Pandya scored 20 runs and Jadhav 10 as the batsmen struggled to get runs on what was a slow and a sluggish pitch.

Earlier, all-rounder Hardik Pandya (3/40) and chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav (2/31) yet again proved very effective in the middle overs while Umesh Yadav (3/36) scalped three
batsmen later on in India's dominating bowling show.

Coming into the must-win match, West Indies elected to bat and were off to a steady start but lacked character for a flourishing finish against the visitors.

Openers Evin Lewis (35) and Kyle Hope (35) put on 57 runs in a steady start for the hosts before young Pandya broke the partnership by getting rid of the latter.

Kuldeep, who has looked impressive from the beginning of his debut, made life tough tough for the West Indies batsmen with his stock ball and googlies.

Lewis tried to open his arms, going for a drive off Kuldeep, but the ball turned a bit and went straight to captain Virat Kohli at mid-wicket.

With Pandya and Kuldeep bowling in tandem accurate lines, the hosts found the going tough. Lack of application from the home batsmen made the job easier for India.

Paceman Umesh Yadav also contributed in cleaning up the middle over by scalping three batsmen.

Once the openers departed it got worse for the West Indies, which needed a good partnership and a batsman, who could stay on the crease for a longer period.

The chinaman bowler struck for the second time when he deceived Roston Chase (25) in the air and the ball clipped the bails, leaving the team at 121 for there in 31.2 overs.

The hosts maintained a decent run-rate but now they needed to accelerate to present some challenge before the formidable batting line-up.

Pandya returned and dismissed wicket-keeper Shai Hope (25) by having him caught behind and soon Umesh Yadav had his first victim in rival captain Jason Holder (11).

Half the team was back in pavilion. The responsibility to get the side a fighting total was on Jason Mohammed and Rovman Powell.

However both of them departed soon. Powell, attempting to hit one hard from Umesh, miscued one to Ravindra Jadeja while Mohammed hit straight to Jadeja while slashing one from Pandya.

Umesh troubled the tail-enders Devendra Bishoo (15) and Ashley Nurse (4) with his fast and rising deliveries. One such ball hurried on to Nurse took an edge and Umesh caught it diving to his follow right.
